What is RSS?

RSS is a file format/protocol that is an abbreviation for "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication". See Wikipedia's definition for a more detailed description of RSS.

In a general sense, an RSS feed is a stream of information that is machine understandable. People subscribe to an RSS feed using an RSS aggregator or news aggregator to bring multiple RSS feeds into a common piece of software to allow for easy reading.

FlashCommerce.com uses RSS feeds to allow your to subscribe to specific streams of news stories. Any place where you see the RSS icon you can subscribe to the news stream that is shown on that page. For instance, on the new stories page you subscribe to the feed of new stories as they are being entered into the system. You can also subscirbe to the stories that a specific user has voted on if you find your interests follow that user's interest. Just go to that users profile page, select the "votes" tab and subscribe using the RSS link on that page.

If you are not using an RSS or news aggregator then this list of available aggregators from Wikipedia is a good place to start looking for one.
